I am getting married in 7 days.
It's exciting, overwhelming, scary and every other emotion you can imagine.
At this point I am wishing that I had a destination wedding.
But
The wedding will be beautiful.

So
RSVP PEOPLE!!

Seriously,
you get on your email EVERYDAY
so please just send an email to
makennaandchasewedding@gmail.com
and simply put if you will be in attendance or not.
I would truly appreciate at it
and it might save me some money in the end if you do this.

also, I am loving every second of having my sister and nieces here
but all were missing is Jason
so Jason hurry on up and get here!

continued...

one month to the wedding
my inner diva is truly shinning.

11. Do not come to someone's wedding or keep assuming and be awkward that you are coming when you have not gotten an invitation. Some people can't have everyone in the world come. Especially when its in a front yard, and chairs are being ordered to the exact number that RSVP'd. Its nothing personal, I promise, but please just be understanding.

12. When you know that someone's friend is going to their wedding. Don't keep asking for them to come to yours, and than pay them to come to your wedding.

Wedding Etiquette

As brides we have a lot of rules to follow
We feel we have the need to reach everybody's expectations of the wedding.
Example being the time of the wedding and that affecting food.
Everyone expects to have food, why?
We are faced with many issues of stepping on peoples toes.
Dancing or no dancing
Alcohol or no alcohol
Traditional ceremony or whatever you want.

I don't know why there isn't a wedding etiquette manual for everyone else.
There sure needs to be one.
So here is my little one, feel free to add on.

1. DO NOT ask if you are invited to the wedding. That's rude and awkward. This also includes asking over e-mail, text messages, and facebook. Asking also includes saying stuff like I haven't received a save-the-date or invitation yet.

2. DO NOT expect to be invited. It costs money for every single person, just be considerate.

3. Don't throw a fit and hurt someone's feelings if there is dancing and/or alcohol. Especially because it's their day, if they want that than that's their decision. Don't ruin it for them. But I guess there always has to be a party pooper.

4. Don't pig out when you go through the food line. Catering is expensive. Just, don't be that person. It's a wedding, not Golden Corral.

5. Don't expect to be a bridesmaid and groomsman. Don't throw a fit about it either.

6. DO NOT ask how much the brides budget is. Don't try to figure it out either, both are Rude Rude Rude.

7. Do Not ask how big the diamond is or how much. That is none of yo beeswax.

8. Don't ask how much the wedding dress cost, don't ask the style and designer of the dress just so you can snoop online for the price. Why does it matter? Is it too much to ask to just be happy that she found her dress?

9. A wedding is about the bride and groom, embrace that, and enjoy that for them. It doesn't matter if it isnt "ordinary" or how you would do it or did it. Im sorry sweetie, but its not about you today.

10. DO NOT ASK WHEN THEY ARE HAVING CHILDREN. Seriously? Even family, don't bring it up, that is SO personal. Just think about it, would you like someone asking you how menopause is going, how your sex life is, when you are going to move into a retirement home? No I don't think you would, don't ask when they are having babies. Especially when they aren't even married, or newlyweds. Let them be married. There will be babies when there are babies, and there is nothing you can do about it. So DONT ask.

Just be happy for the couple.
Don't bring your drama to the table,
it might get to the point where the bride will just brush it off the table
just like that,
and not care about your feelings
because obviously you can't even consider
her's
because you are being selfish.

June 19th 2010

you have been picked out for
7 months and couple of weeks now
I really didn't want to get married on you.
I wanted to get married in May (October, you are just too far away)
May won't work
I didn't realize how much I did not want too
Until, I read my wedding journal.
I had all these other dates picked, and told chase I DONT want to get married on this day
It just doesn't sound good.
But alas,
That is how my life makes its decisions, of the opposite of what I want.
God laughs at me daily, probably hourly, because of this problem I have of everything always happening the way I thought I didnt want it.

June 19th,
I take back everything bad I said/thought about you.
Thanks for being my wedding date.
Now please have perfect weather.
Thank you.

**The weather forecast should be looking good. 5 other couples than myself, (from OC) are getting married on this date. Lots and lots of prayers will be said about this date.**
***Because of my luck, everyone that is getting married on June 19th should probably reconsider, There will probably be snow in the morning, flood by lunch, tornado by 7. If you are having it inside in a tornado shelter you should be fine.***

Bad Decision?

I told Chase when we first got engaged
"you plan the honeymoon, and surprise me, I don't care, and I don't want to worry about it"
that was a loaded statement.
So I have been telling him of places that I want to go.
Telling him these are the places he gets to choose from.
Places from in the United States to out of the country to cruises.
I was telling him that he was going to have to tell me what to pack,
"I will tell your sister and Tessa where we are going the day before the wedding so they can pack for you." Says Chase as a clueless boy would say.
THE DAY BEFORE??
ME NOT PACKING FOR MYSELF??
I don't know about all of this, its making me feel a little uneasy.
My sister and Tessa have wonderful fashion but that might be too much of a surprise for me..

I am also curious cause I want to know where we are going.
Other people are too, for various reasons.

oh I also made 4 dozen homemade chocolate chip cookies yesterday..
next time, I will look at how much it is going to make before I just start dumping all the ingredients in.
